Located in Aomori Prefecture, Aomori-jinja Shrine is one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan, with a history dating back to 718 CE. It was dedicated to Tsuneyoshi-no-mikoto, the third emperor of the Jimon period. The shrine is known for its unique architecture and its association with the mythological figure of Ryujin, the dragon god. The shrine's grounds are also famous for their beautiful gardens, which include a stunning stone lantern called 'Tsuruchi no ko'.
