Located in the historic district of Hakata, East Village Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the eastern quarters and commerce. Founded in 1608 by Hachiman Shrine's direct descendant, it has served as a regional center for trade and culture. As one of Fukuoka's oldest shrines, it showcases traditional architecture, including a striking vermilion torii gate.
