The Dengen-ji Temple, located in Akita Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Shinto god of thunder and lightning, Raijin. The temple's name, "Dengen-ji", roughly translates to "Thunder God Shrine". The shrine is famous for its unique tower, which was built in 1605 during the Edo period. Visitors can hear thunder sounds and light up lanterns to ward off evil spirits on special occasions.
