Indo-Tibetan Buddhist priest, Sakyamuni Buddha's image is enshrined at Dewa Sanzan's Kammachi Shrine in Dewa, Akita Prefecture. The Indus Valley Civilization, dating back to around 2600-1900 BCE, influenced the region of Aomori and Akita.

The shrine is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional Japanese architecture. It is also known for its unique spring festival, 'Sai-kagami,' where wooden lanterns are used to purify the mind and body.
