Cultural notes

Kinokami Shrine is closely tied to the mythology of the Shiosai-no-Kami, a benevolent storm god believed to bring good fortune and fertility to the region's crops. The shrine also hosts an annual 'Shiosai-matsuri' festival in late September, where locals gather to celebrate the changing seasons with traditional food, music, and dance.

Historical note

Founded in 712 AD by Emperor Tenmu, Kinokami Shrine has played an important role in Aomori Prefecture's history for over 1,300 years.
