Located in New Crown Town, northern Hokkaido, Taisho-gu Shrine is dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu and is believed to have been established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). The shrine's architecture reflects its association with the sun, featuring a bright orange torii gate that is said to symbolize the sun's rays.
