Located in New Crown Town, northern Hokkaido, Taisho-gu Shrine is dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu and is believed to have been established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). The shrine's architecture reflects its association with the sun, featuring a bright orange torii gate that is said to symbolize the sun's rays. Visitors can experience traditional Shinto culture by participating in the annual Summer Solstice Festival, which celebrates the longest day of the year and the peak of the sun's power.
