Located in the historic city of Matsue, the Yamayakushi no Miyako Sanrei-do Shrine honors the three spirits that were discovered on a hill near the city's riverbank in 1884. These three kami, Yamashiro no Mikoto, Hidaka no Mikoto, and Shimane no Mikoto, are believed to have been enshrined by the local priest who made the discovery.

Visitor tip
Visitors can see a replica of the original three spirits' relics on display inside the shrine. Be respectful and do not attempt to take pictures near the actual relics.
