Visitor tip

Dayatsuku Hachiman Shrine is connected to the mythology surrounding Hachiman Okami, who was said to have been awakened by Emperor Kinmei's plea for help against his half-brother, Prince Oshimimi. The shrine also features a unique architectural style known as 'Hirata-zukuri,' characterized by its use of wooden beams and pillars.

The current main hall was rebuilt in 1716, but the shrine's origins date back to the 8th century.
