Kumano-gu is a Shinto shrine located in the Fujioka district of Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu and the storm god Susanoo, it is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, with a history dating back over 1,300 years. The shrine's architecture reflects the traditional Japanese style, featuring a large torii gate and a wooden main hall.

Cultural notes
Kumano-gu is closely tied to the myth of Susanoo and Amaterasu, who are said to have created the Kumano region. The shrine also hosts an annual festival in July to celebrate the peak sun month (tanabata).
