Ishikawa

The eight-storied pagoda at Eight Stairway Shrine in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a symbol of the shrine and can be seen from afar. The shrine's history dates back to the Edo period, and it is said to be one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan. The shrine's kami are revered by locals for their protection against evil spirits and misfortune.

Visitor tip
