Cultural notes
Akakawa Castle Shrine is associated with Hachiman Okami, who is said to have appeared in a dream to Prince Shotoku, the grandson of Emperor Kinmei. According to legend, Prince Shotoku used this vision to guide his foreign policy decisions and secure alliances with neighboring countries.
