Located in the town of Masuda, Shimoji Jishu Shrine is dedicated to the god of the land, agriculture, and fertility, known as Shimoji Tenjin. The shrine's name translates to 'Landowner God Shrine'. Founded during the Edo period, it is believed to have been originally built at a site where an ancient shrine stood. Over time, the current shrine was rebuilt in its current form.
