Shimane

Kuugan-sa Shrine, located in Iwami Province, is dedicated to the rice god Kuuga. The shrine's architecture reflects its traditional design with a main hall and several smaller shrines. Shikina-no-ya, a distinctive five-story pagoda-style gate, serves as the shrine's entrance. Located near the coast of Shimane Prefecture, the shrine honors Kuuga as a protector of crops and agriculture.

Visitor tip
