Ishikawa

Seven Gods Shrine, located in the town of Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Seven Gods of good fortune and prosperity. The shrine's main building, Hondo, dates back to the Edo period and features a unique hump-backed roof design. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds, which include several smaller shrines and ceremonial areas.

Cultural notes

The Seven Gods of good fortune and prosperity, also known as 'Shichino Omikuji,' are enshrined at this shrine. These kami are believed to bring blessings and protection to the community. During the New Year (Oshogatsu) festival, visitors can receive omikuji (fate-telling fortunes) by inserting a coin into a special box.
