Located in the town of Nagaoka, Ishikawa Prefecture, Shinko-ji is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Kamui-no-Mae, a deity associated with the sea and fishing. The shrine's architecture reflects its regional characteristics, featuring a thatched roof and wooden pillars typical of Hokuriku-style shrines. As one of the oldest shrines in the Nagaoka area, Shinko-ji is believed to have been built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), with its current structure dating back to the Edo period (1603-1867 CE).

Shinko-ji is also known for its festivals, particularly the Nagaoka Matsuri held annually in August. Additionally, the shrine's grounds are said to be inhabited by the 'yurei' (ghost) of a local samurai who died in battle.
