Ishikawa

Visitor tip

Visitors can purchase a sacred rice ball (senbei) for $0.50 at the shrine's gift shop, which is believed to bring good luck and academic success.

Cultural notes

Katsuyama Shrine is associated with the Shinto god of knowledge, O-no-ya-take-mikoto. The shrine also hosts an annual Cherry Blossom Festival in late March, where participants write wishes on paper lanterns that float away on the wind.
