Ishikawa

Located in the city of Kanazawa, Akizuya Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of learning and culture, known as Horyu no Okami. It is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, built in 727 CE during the Nara period. The shrine's current main hall was rebuilt in 1733, but its historical roots date back to the Heian period. In addition to Horyu no Okami, the shrine also enshrines various regional kami and is known for its unique architecture and cultural significance.
