諏訪神社

Gunma

Tanuki Shrine, located in the town of Tomita, Gunma Prefecture, is dedicated to Okuninushi no kami, a Shinto deity associated with fertility and prosperity. The shrine's architecture reflects its origins as a rural temple, with a vermilion torii gate and a simple, thatched roof. Visitors can experience the shrine's rustic charm during the Tanabata festival in July, where lanterns are hung between the shrine and the nearby town hall to commemorate the legend of two star-crossed lovers.
