Located in the Fuji-Gunma National Park,箱根神社 (Boxo Shrine) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the mountain, En no Gyōja. The shrine's main structure was built during the Edo period and features a traditional Japanese architecture style known as 'Hiroshima-style.' Visitors can walk up the sacred mountain to the shrine's observation deck for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Cultural notes
Boxo Shrine is famous for its annual 'Matsuri' festival, which takes place in mid-August. During this time, visitors can participate in traditional dances and games, as well as watch a magnificent fireworks display. The shrine is also known for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1868 after being destroyed by fire during the Boshin War.
