Subacho Hachiman-gu Shrine in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture is dedicated to the god of war and justice, Hachiman. The shrine is located near the Eki-dai Bridge, an important site during the Meiji Restoration. Built in 1856, the shrine features a traditional Japanese architecture style, including a haiden (main hall) and a honden (main shrine).

Visitor tip
For visitors arriving by train, exit at Kanazawa Station and take bus number 5 to Subacho Hachiman-gu Shrine. The shrine is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station.
Cultural notes
This shrine is associated with the legend of Hachiman's involvement in the Meiji Restoration. The shrine also holds an annual festival, the Subacho Hachiman Festival, which takes place on September 1st and features traditional dances and offerings to the deity.
