Shimane

Riverorigin Hiyosumi Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to Hiyoshi no Okami, a local deity believed to be responsible for a devastating flood that struck the region in 1574. According to legend, the kami was pleased with the bravery and kindness of its priest, who saved the lives of many people during the disaster.
