Village Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, that dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE). The shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michiie, a notable figure from Japanese history who was known for his military prowess and diplomatic skills. In addition to Michiie, several other kami are enshrined at Village Shrine.

Visitor tip
Visit the shrine's main hall on an even-numbered day of the month for a chance to see the O-Masahiro, a large mirror hung above the main hall, which is believed to ward off evil spirits.
