Located in the heart of Dazaifu, the six-tower Sixto Shrine is dedicated to various deities and kami associated with Shintoism and local legends. Established during the Nara period (710-794 CE), the shrine has a rich history and architectural significance. Its unique architecture features six rectangular towers, believed to represent the six virtues of Confucianism: benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, sincerity, and loyalty.

Visitor tip
