Located in the city of Okayama, 疫神社 is a Shinto shrine dedicated to a kami that is believed to ward off illnesses and epidemics. The shrine's history dates back to the 7th century, during the Asuka period, when it was first established as a small shrine to worship the god of medicine and fertility. Over time, the shrine has been rebuilt and renovated several times, with the current main hall dating back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE).
