Cultural notes
Inari Okami is revered as the god of rice, fertility, and prosperity. The shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which are said to represent the many rice fields in the region. During the Obon festival, lanterns are hung from the gates, creating a stunning spectacle.
