Visitor tip

Cultural notes
The shrine is associated with the mythological figure of Shishiōgatsurō no Kami, a god of wood and forests, believed to have protected travelers from wild beasts. The shrine also hosts an annual autumn festival (shinobazu matsuri) in honor of the kami.

The shrine was built in 1693 during the Edo period and is one of the oldest shrines in Gunma Prefecture.
