市杵島神社

Nagasaki

Located in the city of Nagasaki, City Shrine (Nagasaki) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the sea and maritime safety, Ojin-tenno, as well as the city's founder, Lord Sakamoto Sanemori. The shrine is situated on City Island, which was once the main residence of the Shimazu clan, a powerful feudal lord family that played a significant role in Nagasaki's history.
