Tatsuoka Inari Shrine, also known as Tatsunohara Inari Shrine, is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Agematsu, Nagano Prefecture, but is more commonly associated with Niigata Prefecture as "古峯神社". The shrine is dedicated to the kami of rice, prosperity, and good fortune. According to legend, the shrine was built to honor the gods that protect the mountain pass known as Tatsunohara, which connects the provinces of Echigo and Kozasa. Visitors can participate in the shrine's traditional activities such as sake tasting and tea ceremonies.

Cultural notes
Tatsuoka Inari Shrine is associated with the mythology of the Tatsuoka River, which is said to have healing properties. During the autumnal equinox festival, visitors can participate in a ritual to purify their souls and ensure good luck for the coming year.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1892 after being destroyed by a fire in 1876.
