鎮守稲荷神社

Located in the city of Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, 鎮守稲荷神社 is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of prosperity and good fortune. The shrine's primary deity is Shintoism's god of agriculture and fertility, Inari Okami. However, it also enshrines several other local kami, including Tamazura-gami and Ōno-Ima-shi, known for their association with rice and grains. Visitor tip

Historical note

The shrine was founded in 1582 by Tokugawa Ieyasu's forces during the Battle of Tennoji, and it has since played a significant role in local politics and commerce.
