若宮八幡神社

Located in the heart of Akita city, Wakakusa-hachimangu Shrine is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines dedicated to the god Hachiman. According to legend, the shrine was built by Prince Nagaoka, who was the first ruler of Akita Prefecture, to commemorate his victory over a rival clan in 802 AD.
