Akita

Located in the heart of Akita, the Eightfold Temple Shrine is a revered Shinto site dedicated to the veneration of the gods. According to local legend, the shrine was built on the site where a Buddhist temple once stood, and its name "Eightfold" refers to the eight gods who are said to reside within its grounds. The shrine's architecture reflects a traditional Akita-style design, with a vermilion torii gate and a spacious courtyard.
