正一位稲荷神社

Located in the heart of Akita City, Honjo-ji Temple is a historic Buddhist temple dedicated to Kannon, the goddess of mercy. The temple complex also houses an important Shinto shrine, dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and protector of scholars. The shrine's significance lies in its association with the famous Japanese general Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who took refuge here during the Genpei War.
