Located in the heart of Akita city, Ise-dera shrine was originally built as a temple dedicated to the Buddhist deity Amida in the late Nara period (8th century). Over time, it was converted into a Shinto shrine and renamed 稲荷神社. The shrine is renowned for its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens, which reflect the harmonious blend of Shintoism and Buddhism that defined Japan's early history.
