Wakamiya Shrine, located in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, is one of the most important Shinto shrines dedicated to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu Omikami. Built in 1186, during the Heian period, the shrine's architecture reflects the classic Japanese style, with a vermilion torii gate and traditional wooden buildings. The shrine complex also features several imperial regalia, including the sacred mirror of the Imperial House of Japan and the Yari mirror, said to have been used by Emperor Toba in 1239.
