Visitor tip
For a more immersive experience, try visiting Wakabayashi Jinja during cherry blossom season or on March 3rd to celebrate Girls' Day (Hinamatsuri), when the shrine is decorated with beautiful spring flowers and traditional girl's day dolls.
Cultural notes
Wakabayashi Jinja is home to a majestic torii gate, unique architectural features of its wooden buildings, and a revered Buddhist sculpture known as the 'Tengu no tsuru' or 'Tengu's Pine', which is believed to be over 700 years old.
