Located in the city of Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, Tenmanjin Shrine is dedicated to the god of prosperity and good fortune, Tenmanjin. The shrine's main hall features a distinctive curved roof and ornate decorations. According to legend, the shrine was established by a local Buddhist priest who converted to Shintoism after being exiled from his temple. As a result, the shrine has a strong connection to the Tenmanji sect of Buddhism.

Cultural notes
Tenmanjin Shrine is also famous for its association with the famous Japanese actor Toshirô Mifune, who was said to have visited the shrine before filming his iconic role in Akira Kurosawa's 'Rashomon'. The shrine is also known for its beautiful autumn foliage and stunning views of Suruga Bay.
