河東天満宮 is a Shinto shrine located in Fukuoka Prefecture, dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu, and the storm god Susanoo no Mikoto's brother, Ōkuninushi. The shrine is famous for its impressive torii gate and stunning views of Dazaifu Bay. According to local legend, the shrine was built during the Nara period (710-794 CE) by Emperor Montoku, who prayed for his brother's return from a hunting trip.
