Located in the city of Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, Ryūkichi Benkei Tennō is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the legendary warrior and poet Benkei. According to legend, Benkei was a Buddhist monk who lived during the Heian period and was said to have served as a bodyguard for Minamoto no Yoshitsune. The shrine's name "Ryūkichi" refers to the dragon, which is a symbol of strength and protection in Shintoism.

Visitor tip
