Located in Iwate Prefecture, the San no Sento Shrine is a Shinto temple dedicated to the deities of the three main powers of heaven, earth, and sea. It is believed to be the most northerly Shinto shrine in Japan, standing at an impressive height of over 1,000 meters above sea level. The shrine complex features a unique blend of traditional and modern architecture, with a distinctive five-story pagoda tower that symbolizes the harmony between heaven, earth, and sea.

Visitor tip
