Aomori

Heiwa-ji Temple, a historic temple located near the Shirakami-Sanchi National Park, was once a sacred place for the local Ainu people before being adopted by the Shinto religion in the early Heian period (794-1185 CE). This influence is still seen today in the shrine's architecture and traditions. The Bear God Shrine, dedicated to the god of the bear, Kumajiro-san, is another name for this Shinto shrine located in Aomori Prefecture. Locals believe that visiting the shrine during autumn will bring good luck.
