三太夫大明神

Located in the heart of Fukuoka, the Three-Father God Shrine (San-taifu Taishin Jingū) is a revered Shinto site dedicated to the enshrined kami, Takamori-no-Mikoto and the three brothers, Masaishi-no-Kami, Munezumi-no-Kami, and Kiyozumi-no-Kami. These powerful deities are believed to protect the local population from evil spirits and misfortune. The shrine's architecture reflects its historical significance, with a traditional Japanese-style torii gate and a serene garden.

Cultural notes

This shrine is associated with the legend of the three brothers who were tasked by the local ruler to defeat a bandit leader. Historical note

The Three-Father God Shrine was rebuilt in the Heian period (794-1185 CE) after being destroyed by earthquake in the 8th century.
