Toyosato Jinja, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of rice and water, is located in Akita Prefecture. Founded during the Heian period (794-1185), the shrine has been an important center for agriculture and fishing in the region. The current shrine building dates back to the Kamakura period (1185-1333). Cultural notes
