Located in Iwate Prefecture, 鬼死骸八幡神社 is a lesser-known Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of war and prosperity, Hachiman Tenjin. According to local legend, the shrine was founded by a samurai who died during the Genroku era (1688-1704) at the site where he was killed in battle, thus earning its name.
