Cultural notes

As a shrine dedicated to Tsukiyomi-no-Kami, Eight Clouds Shrine is particularly revered for its role in promoting good fortune and luck during the new year's (Oshogatsu) celebrations. The shrine's distinctive cloud-shaped torii gate is also said to resemble a stylized image of the god's lunar chariot.
