Located in Akita Prefecture, the Eight-Horned Shrine (Hachimantai) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the samurai class. The shrine is famous for its distinctive eight-pronged torii gate and is said to be the place where the god appeared to a local lord in 676 CE, marking the beginning of the shrine's history. The shrine is also known for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture, which reflect the Edo period's aesthetic values.
