Visitor tip

Cultural notes

The shrine is famous for its rice-growing rituals and is said to have been involved in several battles, including the Satsuma Rebellion. It also hosts an annual festival called 'Inakadate Matsuri' in July to celebrate the founding of the shrine.

Historical note

The shrine was built in the 16th century by the daimyo Date Masamune.
