Inakadate Shrine, dedicated to Inazuma Okami and Jishu Yamatsumi, is one of Japan's most famous rice-growing shrines located in Hirosaki city, Akita Prefecture.

Visitor tip
To fully appreciate the shrine's beauty, visit during cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and enjoy a romantic stroll along the surrounding riverside paths.
Cultural notes
The shrine is famous for its rice-growing rituals and is said to have been involved in several battles, including the Satsuma Rebellion. It also hosts an annual festival called 'Inakadate Matsuri' in July to celebrate the founding of the shrine.

The shrine was built in the 16th century by the daimyo Date Masamune.
