南宮大神社

Shiga

Located in Echizen Province, today's Nankoyama Shrine is one of the few Shinto shrines dedicated to the mythological god Susanoo-no-Mikoto, known for his role in creating the ocean and its storms. The shrine's architecture reflects its association with the sea and its connection to the legendary Tengoku no Iri-iro, a celestial being said to inhabit the heavens.
