Visitor tip

Cultural notes
The shrine is closely tied to the mythology of Susanoo-no-Mikoto, a storm god said to have driven off the sun goddess Amaterasu. During the annual Tanabata festival, visitors write wishes on tanzaku papers and tie them to the shrine's torii gates.
