浅間神社

Nakatsu Shrine, located in Ibaraki Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the sea and fishing. It is said that the shrine was founded by Emperor Nintoku in 534 AD, during the Nara period. The shrine is known for its beautiful architecture, which reflects traditional Japanese designs. Cultural notes

In Ibaraki Prefecture, Nakatsu Shrine is said to be the local enshrinement of the god of the sea (Shio no Kami) and also enshrines the god of agriculture. The shrine hosts an annual summer festival where visitors can enjoy traditional food, games and entertainment.

Historical note

Nakatsu Shrine was rebuilt in 1639 during the Edo period.
